Marianne rêve (Marianne dreams)

Haloed by a starry sky, a young Marianne heads towards the horizon. She rises from a tricolour wave that engulfs the colonnade of the Palais Bourbon.

For several months, Seth brought poetry into the very heart of the Assemblée nationale, the French National Assembly. This extraordinary intervention took place on one of the most iconic buildings in Paris, facing the Place de la Concorde.

The installation is leaving the colonnade, but Marianne remains. Created from a photograph of the work in situ, the lithograph “Marianne rêve” is a lasting record of this extraordinary project. Facing the nation’s elected representatives, Marianne scatters the seeds of liberty. Proud and fearless, she strides towards her future.

The work is a co-production with the legendary Idem print studio, founded in 1881 and a Parisian landmark of fine art printing.

Made up of 22 colours, this lithograph is printed on a Marinoni press on white 270 g BFK Rives vellum paper with hand-torn edges. Each lithograph is hand-finished by the artist. It measures 56 x 80 cm.
